And finally: take only the stuff that takes care of you. Join Suzie Briddsang, a tour operator with Rowan Tree Travel, as she offers up a host of tips and tricks for packing like a pro. She 'll review luggage options, essential travel gear, criteria to help you avoid over-packing, and simple ways to keep healthy on the road. Sat Dec 14 Barcelona: Modernismo Art Nouveau Ken Collins MODERNISMO - BARCELONA 'S UNIQUE CONTRIBUTION TO ART NOUVEAU

In the years shortly before and after the turn of the 20th century, Barcelona developed its own exceptional version of Art Nouveau in design and architecture. Barcelona 's form of Art Nouveau came to be called Modernismo. The most famous name associated with it was Antoni Gaudí who designed the famous Sagrada Familia church as well as a number of spectacular private residences, apartment buildings and an entire park. But Gaudí was not alone - there were a number of brilliantly creative other artists at the same time who have left their legacy as well. I visited Barcelona in November 2018 and focused on visiting many of the architecturally noteworthy buildings remaining in Barcelona, with opportunities to photograph not only the exteriors but the outstanding interiors, which include furniture designed by these artists. In addition, some remnants of the design that flowered during that period can be seen in several public places. This program will therefore focus primarily on the aesthetic spirit that reigned in this city over 100 years ago.
