In the 10th century, Sigeric the Serious, Archbishop of Canterbury was the first to document his route and stops along this Pilgrim 's Way. A friend and I embarked on the Via in Lausanne, Switzerland, in late summer 2019, arriving in the Eternal City in mid-October, having walked over 650 miles. This pilgrimage, still relatively undiscovered, is sometimes referred to the "Camino of Italy ". This presentation will show the beautiful and often challenging walking trails over the alps, through vineyards, crumbling ruins, ancient monasteries, imposing castles and sleepy medieval villages.
