In the winter of 2023-24 I spent four months in India searching for wildlife. My main objective was to explore the Western Ghats, the mountain range that runs along the Southwest coast of the Subcontinent, where many endemic species are found. I spent much of my time in the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, and Maharashtra, with additional time spent in the Thar desert in Rajasthan and in the inland state of Madya Pradesh. I also spent a fair amount of time on the coasts, the Arabian sea on the west coast, and the Bay of Bengal on the east coast. I photographed a wide variety of wildlife including reptiles and amphibians, birds, mammals along with fish and other aquatic animals.
